so i just got off the phone with mr. keithleys (rather urgent correspondence, but we go WAYY back… family really. and anyways, friday nites, he’s just sittin by the phone, waitin on a call- any call- til the phone rings or it’s right time to say “hey what’s the matter man? gimme that damn bag already! i know you got it!! arrghh!” to no one particular, in the yellowed marble room by the desk with the litle etched urn til around three when he sits back and does his dailydose of dad… ya know like he’s used to! )
AND after finally clarifying for him what song i referred to.. when he thought he remembered that he did indeed write it (with Mic maybe)… i am most ecstatic to ASSURE you (to my great relief!):
he says he “doesn’t mind at all…” that these youngun’ bands be stealin his whole bloody repertoire, constnatlty, with not a single shout-out cuz he “used to do it all the time…” himself. (evidnetly he thinks it his penance. cute, right?) and that i gotta get him his schnapps already. somehow, from across the frickin ocean, can ya believe?
welll… wish me luck.. with that. and do enjoy this most Mimetikal rendition, while you’re at it. hell, next time Fats’ll be pullin that off in stride style, or they’ll be hiphoppin it, for all we know! In either case Dick will have none of it; but i won’t let him know the difference.

It sounds more Rod Stewart than RS… hmm, they’re both RS’s. Rolling Stones for the latter. I didn’t know they had a disco song. I must say that you sounded Kelis-like in that rap part. “Just some friends of mine and they say/ ‘What’s the matter wit’choo boyyyyy…’”
I like it. Nice bass transition into it.
